				The module introduces students to the concept of health and wellbeing with a focus on primary prevention and health promotion.  The module reflects the shifting emphasis away from a medical disease model towards a health model based on personal responsibility and prevention of disease.
			
		 
Aims		
			
				To introduce students to the concept of health and wellbeing.To explore common determinants of health.To explore the role of primary prevention and health promotion in the context of health and wellbeing.To equip students with the theoretical principles that underpin common health promotion interventions.
